The NBA Playoffs are here, and the Memphis Grizzlies are continuing to look like the favorite in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies play a tough brand of old-school basketball that grinds the other team into a pulp. After defeating the Los Angeles Clippers in convincing fashion the Grizzlies are up 2-1 in the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Grizzlies have All-Stars Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol playing at a very high level and making it a pain for them to be handled in the paint. The world knows and respects the tandem of Gasol and Randolph, but Mike Conley Jr is making a name for himself as well. Tony Allen, Mike Conley, and TayShaun Prince are the perfect compliments to the Randolph and Gasol. With Conley being the floor general he places everyone in the best position to succeed. Since the trade of Rudy Gay Conle ...
Last season was magical as the Buckeyes went 12-0. No the team wasn't rewarded from a national standpoint, but to win twelve games in a row without a loss is a testament to how far this group of young men came from a season ago. With Coach Urban Meyer in the fold for years a come this may be a trend to how football seasons will be at THE Ohio State University.
The spring game was exciting to see. Players such as Mike Thomas, Chris Fields, Noah Spence, Curtis Grant, and Aldophus Washington opened a lot of eyes with their play. We all know that Braxton Miller, Bradley Roby, Ryan Shazier, Carlos Hyde, and the Offensive Line brings to the table, but it is good to see that other players are stepping up as well. I am itching to see the Bucks suit up this season. With last season's success it is only right to expect a similar output.

Is prison really like
what they show on TV?
Prison is nothing like what you see on TV. I cannot speak for every person or prison
but I can speak on my stay here. Television can't describe how mentally challenging
prison can be. Having a lot of time can be vice. When I first started my time I
had no idea of what to do with myself. Everything about prison is primitive on
a lot of levels, so there was a major lifestyle adjustment initially. Different
mentalities from different decades and cultures mixed with uncomfortable circumstances
don't always make for good environments. I would honestly have to make a week's
work of posts to accurately describe prison and it probably wouldn't do any
justice because I'd just be describing my personal situation. Every individual sees this experience different. I am just giving you my extre ...
I was given your name by your cousin currently in this facility with me. We good friends and he cared enough to ask me if I could send out some words of encouragement to you. He said you seem to be losing focus in life. I don't have a problem doing this simply because I enjoy the possibility of helping to potentially change someone's life. I started out by asking a little about you and he gave me a brief description. The first thing that popped into my head as he talked about you was George needs to learn to be a leader. Let me let you in on a little secret. Nothing good ever happens when you're hanging out and entertaining yourself with the peanut gallery. I know all the nonsense and foolishness is entertaining at times but please understand this; something you find funny and so entertaining can either put you in an early grave or behind ...
Did my title catch your attention? Good, because that’s
exactly what this post is about- big, buff Buckeye football players getting
pedicures at a local mall. Does that imagery put a smirk on your face?
Of course it does because the thought of strong, burley
young men, known for engaging in a violent gladiator-like sport, getting their
feet massaged and cared for is a funny thought. The irony of it all is
undeniable. In the end, I really want to get your feelings on if it’s “okay,”
from a masculinity standpoint, for a man (more specifically football players)
to “get his feet did?”
Here’s how the story unfolded:
I was witness to this event several months ago, just before
the start of the 2012 football season. My mom, daughter, and I were visiting
Polaris Mall here in Columbus. While leaving the food court, I noticed a sm ...
I am who I am. I do what I do, and it is what it is. It takes a lot of courage and character to keep going on after what I've been through. Some people have gone crazy and have never recovered from the crazy state of mind due to the stress that was imposed on them. Respect the fact that I've put in the work necessary to get my life back in order. Extreme depression and excessive amounts of stress can mess up anyone's life. If everyone will just take a moment to imagine with me an 18 year old who is not well traveled or formally educated and has only been faced with urban challenges. In a nutshell that's who I was when I was dealing with problems that I didn't have the capacity to understand, manage, control, or properly assess. I didn't have the intelligence or the resources to reach out to the appropriate human resources to help me out i ...
The Torg, one half of the notorious “Common Man and The Torg” radio show which airs on 97.1 here in Columbus, may have just stamped his ticket to work at “the Citgo.” Over the weekend, Scott Torgerson tweeted a comment about College Game Day’s (and Michigan alum) Desmond Howard. The content of that tweet (pictured below) has sparked a mini-controversy for The Torg and the “Flagship Radio Station of the Buckeyes.” The blowback was swift. The Torg has been suspended for an indefinite amount of time and was not on the show Monday afternoon.
Here’s my biggest issue with how this is being handled and it lies with the show’s hosts. If you’ve listened to the show, which I do, then you know that the personalities of the two men are very brash and unapologetic, which is fine. But they spend so much time ripping at ...

It was good to see the school I love win! After a frustrating football loss on Saturday, I have been waiting patiently for this game (or not so patiently if you ask my wife,) but it came and did not disappoint. It was a fun game to watch. There were a...
Two days ago, the student leaders at Ohio State sent out a message for the fans and students. As you know, Penn State is coming to town and with all of the controversy and ill will surrounding the program, the leaders decided they needed to send out a “please behave”...
This should be another interesting week in collage football. With USC going duck hunting for the chance of an upset. Then Nebraska playing Michigan which could make ether team fall out of the top 20 and a shot for the Big Ten championship. Then we look at the game all of...
Hey Buckeye Nation!!! JJ Sullinger here!!! Co- Founder of The #TeamSully hashtag on Twitter (@MROH1O) and also a whole bunch of other things that don't really matter... The Site Creators of buckeyeshare.com asked me to write a litte on my thoughts about some things... So I said what the hell... I'll...
One play doesn't win or lose a game. That being said, some plays are bigger than others and their success or failure can have a much greater impact on the outcome of the game. The missed extra point that led to the loss at Purdue was one of the most disappointing...
It's Monday morning and if you're at all like me, you are still trying to figure out exactly what happened on Saturday in West Lafayette. First, I'd like for you to take a nice deeeeeep breath and take a short little walk with me. We're going to take a trip back...
I realize that we just lost to Purdue but I want to forget about that debacle for right now. Instead, I will continue the criticism of Penn State and Joe Paterno as it is still needed.
Joe Paterno is finally gone. He’s been “let go” by the university after...
Money, power, school! These were the three words uttered to me when discussing the Penn State, Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno saga by a good friend. It seems in the name of these three things the purveyors of huge programs of even larger universities will stop @ nothing to protect money,...
November is a sacred month on college campuses across the country. For thirty days, young men are given clearance to disregard personal hygiene in attempt to explore the depths of their masculine side. This tradition is known as "No Shave November". For the first time in their lives, the young men...
I don't want to talk about Jerry Sandusky. What he did is beyond the world of sports and he will receive the proper consequences for his inexcusable actions. Sandusky is going to get what he deserves. He is a pathetic criminal and should be convicted as such. My thoughts and prayers...
It is time for Joe Paterno to go, and not just from the position of head coach of Penn State but also as part of the namesake of the Big Ten Football Championship trophy. His silence has lost him the respect of a nation, and it should cost him his...
I couldn’t believe my eyes. There, standing on the lawn of embattled Penn State Coach Joe Paterno, were what looked like scores of student supporters. Many were holding signs and chanting in unison, “Let Joe Stay! Let Joe Stay!” and earlier in the day, as Joe Paterno was leaving his...
A few thoughts about what's happened at Pedo -- I mean, Penn State. I'm mostly addressing what needs to be done with Joe Paterno here, because I can't quite articulate my thoughts on Jerry Sandusky and what he's done without using expletives and complete sentences. If you haven't read it yet, here is the...
I realize having 3 losses isn't going to help us get into the Top 25, but the 3 losses that Ohio State had weren't against terrible teams. The worst loss is Miami, and they do have a winning record.
Michigan State and their awesome defense is currently ranked 17th in the...
As the scandal at PSU began to unfold, I said to myself, lets hold out on judging Jerry Sandusky until all the facts are in. However, as information about the scandal became public, it had become crystal clear that Sandusky's behavior was horrendous and that in fact, he was a predator/pedophile...
I know it is still football season, and I am excited about the remainder of the season, but I can honestly say that I am ready for some Buckeye basketball.
First, I have to admit that I love college basketball. I love everything about it. I love the unpredictability of preseason...
Us ushers had to be on station by 9 a.m. Saturday morning so there wasn't any time to hang out and tailgate and just have fun before the game. After the BIG upset win over Whiskey the week before, Buckeye fans were definitely not expecting a good game and arrived late...
This Week’s game certainly wasn’t an impressive showing by the Buckeyes. After such a solid performance last week against a solid Wisconsin team, Ohio State struggled with a one loss Indiana team for a great deal of the game. While the game always seemed in the Buckeyes grasps, the scoreboard...
Coming off of back to back losses to Sparty and the Cornhuskers, I'll be the first to admit I had little optimism facing the rest of the season. I mean lets face it, losses to two ranked teams behind us and facing what was believed to be a pretty good Ron...
Once the shock of winning the Wisconsin game wore off, I genuinely began to think we may have a chance of advancing to the first Big Ten championship game in Indianapolis this year. We have two winnable games followed by two tough games - but neither any more tough than the...
Every great player has one, an awesome nickname. TP, Maurice the Beast, and Boom, are just a few of the more recent ones. Now that Braxton Miller is coming into his own, it’s time that Buckeye Nation crowns him with a brand new Buckeye approved nickname. Take a second to...
Many of you know that OurBuckeyeHub counts Maurice Clarett and Dee Miller among our members, two standout Buckeyes from the past. While thinking about these guys, I began to wonder what other notable Buckeyes may be doing these days and so I figured I would add a “Where Are They...
I am on a student radio sports talk show, and I figured it would be a cool feature to interview a former or current Ohio State athlete and air it on the show. This was a fairly easy thing to do, I am a huge Buckeye fan so naturally I would...
I have to admit it. I thought the game was over when Braxton Miller threw up that pass to the end zone late in the game against Wisconsin. The thoughts that came to mind were the following: "What the heck is he thinking throwing that pass?" "This pass is going to...
